Fortnite Character Collection locations - Who they are and where to find all 17 characters explained
The Character Collection tasks you with finding NPCs across the battle royale map, each corresponding to the theme and events of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8.
There is a total of 17 characters to find, most of them being present as Battle Pass skins as well.
You'll likely come across some of them in your travels, but others can be rather elusive, or present a particular condition attached. This guide will explain how to complete your Character Collection.
On this page:
Character Collection in Fortnite explained
Each new season brings an array of characters to meet, either during your expeditions across the battle royale map or through the Battle Pass screen as unlockable screens.
Some tend to be variations or even returning characters from previous seasons, while others are completely new. They all tend to serve a purpose, either in relation to specific storylines, for example, or just general quests that you can pick up as you go.
The Character Collection, then, works as a catalogue for all of them. All you have to do (in most cases) is to talk to the NPC in question to see their face appear on your collection.
The list below includes all current locations in the map grid. These are bound to change over time, so make sure to keep an eye on this page throughout the season!
Character Collection list in Fortnite
Below are all 17 characters in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 that are part of the Character Collection:
Character Collection badge reward explained
Completing the Character Collection in Fortnite comes with a reward, but unlike legendary or epic quests, don't expect to gain experience or any other goodies.
Instead, you'll obtain a badge (which is an achievement) in your Legacy catalogue. This can be viewed from the Careers tab in the game's main hub.
At the moment, there are two characters missing in the game. This means that the badge cannot be obtained as of yet.
While in season 7 it was possible to complete the collection even with a missing character, as Bunker Jonesy could glitch itself, you will have to wait for a tad longer to complete it in season 8.
We'll update this page with the missing NPCs once they become available. In the meantime, have fun hunting for this season's characters!
Recent new quests include Touch a Cube, Spirit VesselCaretaker's footprints, Command Signal, scroll locations, mini-pufts, seismographs, Ghostbusters signs and deploying a ghost trap for the Containment Specialist. Elsewhere in Season 8, you can start using Sideways weapons, partake in Sideways encounters, and find colour bottles for Tonna Fish.
Fortnite Character Collections in previous seasons
There have been tonnes of characters to find in Fortnite, all the way from Rick Sanchez to Clark Kent. If you're curious about the ones present in previous seasons, you can find them below:

All NPC Locations in Fortnite Season 7
We're only a month or so away from the end of Fortnite Season 7 now, with aliens playing more and more of a roll on the ever changing map.
The alien invasion has also made the island dangerous for NPCs as well as players, which makes some of them tough to find.
To help you with any challenges you're trying to complete, we'll run you through all of the NPC locations in FortniteSeason 7 down below.
Latest - Batman, Superman and Beast Boy now appearing in-game
The three heroes can now be spoken to in-game to get quests after a speedy hotfix from Epic. Completing Batman, Superman and Beast Boy quests will unlock the Superman and Clark Kent skins.
Batman, Superman and Beast Boy are currently glitched, awaiting hotfix
According to @iFireMonkey, the three heroes; Batman, Superman and Beast Boy, are currently glitched and not appearing in-game. This should be fixed soon but you can still complete their challenges via the phonebooth.
Batman and Superman NPC Locations in Fortnite
Batman, Beast Boy, and Superman can soon be found as NPCs on Fortnite's map and @Hypex on Twitter has revealed the locations of them. You can see where they are on the map in the tweet down below:
For a bit more detail, here's where you can find the characters:
- Batman - In the dark area on the eastern side of Dirty Docks
- Superman - At the north end of the farm that's north-east of Corny Complex
- Beast Boy - By the river in Weeping Woods
Bushranger Is Dead
As of July 29, during Week 8 of Season 10, you cannot find and talk to Bushranger in Fortnite.
He has died, with his body being buried near Risky Reels, as you can see in the tweet down below.
As the story goes, he tried to grow an alien egg, so the IO disposed of him, which is sad and pretty gruesome for Fortnite.
That does mean that you won't be able to get the NPC collection book for Bushranger until he comes back, which will hopefully be at a later date. If Epic adds a different way to do so, we'll let you know.

Where to find all NPC characters in Fortnite Season 7
The Fortnite Spirit Vessel is a highly sought-after item, as it appears in two of Dark Jonesys Halloween tasks. Its particularly intriguing because you cant just pick it up; to accomplish the first of the Fortnite tasks involving it, youll need to take on ghostly form first.
Youll need to return it to the Oracle later to hear his Vision and learn more about Fortnite mythology, so using this guide effectively kills two birds with one stone. If youre ready, weve got all the specifics on how to recover the Fortnite Spirit Vessel and return it to the Oracle using a Shadow Stone.
Locations of the Spirit Vessel and Oracle in Fortnite
The Fortnite Spirit Vessel may be found in two separate locations, which weve noted on the map above. To complete the recovery, you must first locate and ingest one of the little purple Shadow Stones within the adjacent crash scene, then travel to the Spirit Vessel and interact with it while remaining in ethereal form. Weve also noted the Oracles position because youll need to return the Spirit Vessel to them later. This only requires a chat, so theres no need to physically transport anything there.
Go west of Weeping Woods to find the Fortnite Spirit Vessel
Look for the Fortnite Spirit Vessel at the base of a giant tree between two massive parts of the Mothership with Alien Slipstreams over them at the Wasted Woods crash site west of Weeping Woods (or southeast of Holly Hedges).
Find the Fortnite Spirit Vessel west of Dirty Docks and recover it
If you reach the pylon level with that POI then head west up the hill, youll find the Fortnite Spirit Vessel out in the open on a little area of stone in the Destroyed Dish crash site to the west of Dirty Docks.
How to return the Fortnite Spirit Vessel to the Oracle and listen to his Vision
Return the Fortnite Spirit Vessel to the Oracle and listen to his Vision to complete this questline. In Steamy Stacks, the Oracle turns out to be none other than Dark Jonesy himself, so simply return to the hole blasted in the side of the powerplant building and interact with him frequently to hear his Vision. If youre interrupted or rushing through due to opponents nearby, heres the complete text of his message:
My vision is now clear, but I bring dark tidings. Two paths lie ahead of you. On one path, I see sacrifice and loss. On the other, total annihilation.

All Fortnite Character Locations in Season 8
The Fortnite Season 8 secret Battle Pass skin has been revealed, and here is how to get the Cube Queen skin in Fortnite.
Fortnite has made a tradition each season of withholding one of the skins included in the Battle Pass. Sometimes Epic Games will reveal the skin early. Other times, it will keep the skins design a secret.
For Season 8, Fortnite only gave players a silhouette of the skin to start. During the trailer for the Fortnitemares event, Fortnite revealed the Cube Queen skin.
While the Cube Queen is a part of the Season 8 Battle Pass, players cant unlock it just by leveling up. Like every other secret skin, the Cube Queen has special unlock criteria.
Unlock Fortnite Cube Queen skin
For right now, we dont know the exact method for unlocking the Cube Queen skin in Fortnite. Its currently set to release on October 28th, and thats when we will know how to unlock it.
It will likely be locked behind completing certain in-game quests. Most secret Battle Pass skins have required players to complete a certain number of weekly quests. The Cube Queen skin could require players to complete x amount of Character Punchcards.
However, with Cube Queen being an in-game boss, players might have to defeat her to unlock the skin. Or, players who defeat her might unlock one of her style variants.
The Cube Queen Fortnite skin has three different styles. Players might unlock all three once they unlock the skin. However, Fortnite has probably locked the style variants behind more quests.
We will continue to keep this article up to date once Fortnite reveals the official unlock method. Until then, wed love to hear your thoughts on this seasons secret skin. Share with us on Twitter @FortINTEL.

Fortnite Characters locations
There are currently 27 Fortnite characters to find around the island, and you can keep track of the ones you've met so far by visiting the Collections tab on the Quests screen – although Containment Specialist, Mummy, and Graven won't appear there as they're only temporary during Fortnitemares. They all only spawn in one specific location each (except for Cube Assassin) which makes them easier to find, so we've marked all of the Fortnite characters locations we've encountered on the map. Bear in mind that if another player has already hired or eliminated the character, then that will remove them from the location.
You'll know when you're close to one as you'll see a speech bubble icon on your map, as well as on your screen above their head. This list shows where all of the Fortnite characters can be discovered:
- 01) Baba Yaga - South west of Sludgy Swamp
- 02) Big Mouth - The Pizza Pit (northeast of Corny Crops)
- 03) Fabio Sparklemane - Apres Ski (south west of Misty Meadows)
- 04) Dark Jonesy - West side of Steamy Stacks
- 05) Kor - East side of Misty Meadows
- 06) Dusk - Primal Pond (west of Lazy Lake)
- 07) Torin - The Aftermath (southwest of Corny Crops)
- 08) Grim Fable - Wasted Woods (west of Weeping Woods)
- 09) Kitbash - East side of Dirty Docks
- 10) Madcap - East side of Corny Crops
- 11) Nitehare - FN Radio (east of Craggy Cliffs)
- 12) Penny - West side of Retail Row
- 13) Pitstop - North east side of Boney Burbs
- 14) Charlotte - South east side of Pleasant Park
- 15) Raven - Hydro 16 (east of Sludgy Swamp)
- 16) Scuba Jonesy - Coral Cove (west of Coral Castle)
- 17) Cube Assassin - Inside Sideways Anomalies
- 18) J.B. Chimpanski - Weather Station (south of Catty Corner)
- 19) Toona Fish - Viking Vessel (west of Holly Hedges)
- 20) The Brat - Fork Knife Food Truck (north of Lazy Lake)
- 21) Wrath - Stealthy Stronghold (northwest of Pleasant Park)
- 22) Dire - Camp Cod (south of Catty Corner)
- 23) Ragsy - Risky Reels (west of Corny Crops)
- 24) Ariana Grande - Believer Beach Pier
Not included in the Collection:
- 25) Containment Specialist - Camp Cod (south of Catty Corner)
- 26) Mummy - Hey Boo! (west of Holly Hedges)
- 27) Graven - Dusted Depot (south of Corny Crops)
Where is the Fortnite Cube Assassin
Unlike the other characters, the Fortnite Cube Assassin appears at random locations so is considerably harder to track down. For a chance of encountering them, you first need to enter the Fortnite Sideways through one of the Sideways Anomalies that look like purple rifts, then if you get lucky the Cube Assassin will teleport in during your fight with the monsters.
They're a tough foe to take down as they're armed with a Sideways Minigun and will put up an impenetrable shield in front of them, but this leaves them exposed to an attack from the side for a few seconds which is your best form of offense. You'll also need to keep taking down monsters to progress your encounter at the same time, otherwise the rift will close and the Cube Assassin will disappear. Manage to juggle dealing with both successfully, and you can interact with the ghostly version of the Cube Assassin afterwards to add them to your collection.
Who are Fortnite Mummy and Graven
Fortnite Mummy and Graven are two new NPCs introduced for the Fortnitemares event, and although they might not be considered proper characters due to their fleeting visit to the island, they are still handy to meet. Both will offer to sell you the Pumpkin Launcher, activate a rift, or for the first time this season you can hire them to fight alongside you. Mummy is outside the Hey Boo! Halloween store to the west of Holly Hedges, while Graven can be found at Dusty Depot which is now just to the east of The Convergence.
What do Fortnite Characters do
When you find one of the Fortnite characters and interact with them, you'll be given a variety of options to choose from, either taking on a task for them or buying something from them. Possible choices include:
- Duel - Defeat the character in combat to collect their weapon
- Healing - Character recovers HP for you
- Hire - Recruit the character to fight alongside you
- Prop Disguise - Turns you into a prop until you use an item or take damage
- Quest - Take on a task, linked to the character's punchcard
- Rift - Opens a rift to teleport you into the sky so you can glide
- Storm Forecast - Shows where the next Storm phase will form on your map
- Supply Drop - Triggers extra Supply Drops to fall
- Tip Bus Driver - Post a tip to the Battle Bus driver in the feed
- Weapon - Purchase an exotic weapon from the character
Once you've accepted a task from a Fortnite character, you can track your progress by pulling up the map screen and either scrolling through your Quests, or moving over to the Bars Quests tab which should show it in isolation. When an assignment is completed, you'll automatically receive the gold bars into your inventory, so you don't need to return to the character to collect your reward.
Which Fortnite Characters do what
If you're looking for a particular service from one of the Fortnite characters, then these are the ones you should be seeking out.
- Dark Jonesy
- J.B. Chimpanski
- The Brat - Chili Chug Splash
- Charlotte - Rail Gun
- Dusk - Shadow Tracer
- J.B. Chimpanski - Rail Gun
- Kor - Automatic Sniper Rifle
- Pitstop - Dragon's Breath Sniper
- Raven - Rail Gun
- Scuba Jonesy - Rail Gun
- Wrath - Marksman Six Shooter

The bathtub in this house, I can tell you, was amazing, huge and even a jacuzzi. We fit in it without much difficulty and embarrassment. Marina didnt take more trouble to raise my friend in combat form, and so she touched her pussy to him and I entered her. Marina's pussy was wet and slightly tight, this indicated that she was not yet well-worn for her years.
I really liked it, the tight ring squeezed my cock and I could not help but moan.
