Everything to Know About Yellowstone Season 4: Trailer Premiere Date, Cast, and More
We're all waiting for the fourth season of Yellowstone so we can get back to all that Dutton family melodrama and all those hot ranch hands. Yellowstone Season 3 left many fates up in the air after John (Kevin Costner) was shot, Beth's (Kelly Reilly) office was blown up by a mail bomb, and Kayce (Luke Grimes) was the target of a separate gunman attack. We are pretty sure that Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) is responsible for planning the attack on the Dutton family, but did Jamie (Wes Bentley) help? And did Beth and Kayce survive their attacks? What will become of the ranch if they didn't make it?
There are so many burning questions that still need to be answered. The good news is that a Season 4 premiere date has finally been announced. Here's what we know about the new season of Yellowstone.
There's a new trailer for Season 4 so check it out and prep for the show's big two-hour premiere.
Yellowstone returns for Season 4 on Sunday, Nov. 7, with back-to-back episodes.
There will be new faces in Season 4, including Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Birdbox) as Caroline Warner, the CEO of Market Equities. She's going up against John Dutton and trying to loosen the hold he has on all his Montana ranch land. Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs, Coyote Ugly) joins the cast as Summer Higgins, a protestor from Portland who is against the state-funded police force that protects industrialized farming and the killing of animals. Kathryn Kelly (Nashville,Dolly Parton's Heartstrings) will portray Emily, a vet tech who strikes up a relationship with a new Dutton ranch cowboy. And Finn Little (Storm Boy, Angel of Mine) is Carter, a young boy the Dutton family takes in. He's reminiscent of a young Rip (Cole Hauser), and Beth decides the ranch is the best place to teach him a lesson on how to be a man.
Where to Watch
New episodes of Yellowstone will air on Paramount Network. Season 4 premieres Sunday, Nov. 7.
Seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Peacock.
Is Yellowstoneseason 4 new tonight on Paramount Network? Are we getting a chance to finally dive further into this story? We will, of course, take on that question within this piece.
First and foremost, though, why not start off by a quick little check-in on us all? This has been a long hiatus and without a doubt, the hardest we’ve had for the show since the beginning. What is everyone doing to prepare for the premiere? How many marathons have you had a chance to see?
New Yellowstone video! Check out our discussion breaking down what could be coming next on the series below. After you do just that, SUBSCRIBEto Matt and Jess on YouTube — there are some more updates ahead and of course, we don’t want you missing those throughout the season…
The unfortunate news here remains quite simple: There is no new episode of Yellowstone coming on the network later tonight. As for the reason why, that’s rather simple: We’re not at the premiere quite yet. It is set to air on Sunday, November 7, so that’s just a matter of three short weeks!
We know that waiting can be brutal but remember this: We’re going to get a LOT of details over the next several days. Just think along the lines here of synopses, interviews, promos, and some more behind-the-scenes interviews. There’s a lot of great coverage coming! You’ll get a greater sense of what the upcoming season is going to look like, but also what some of the overall themes are going to be.
If you’ve seen some of the previews out there already for season 4, then you know what one of the key components to the story is going to be: Revenge. After the events of the season 3 finale, it’s clear at this point that whoever survives will be out for blood. It’s going to be violent, dramatic, and we’re certainly hoping for a few more surprises. Let’s hope the writing delivers on it!

Yellowstone has normally premiered in the summer, with each previous season hitting a June premiere date. Unfortunately, the show has suffered numerous delays following the release of the third season, holding it back from making its typical showing. However, the wait is almost over for season four, with the Paramount Network show’s fourth season premiere coming soon.
What is the release date for Yellowstone season four?
After a long wait, the official release date for season four has been revealed by the Paramount Network.
The next season will be releasing on November 7, 2021, confirming previous rumours it would drop in November.
Earlier this month Deadline reported that the show was aiming for a November debut, though up until now the Paramount Network did not respond to these claims.
The trailer for season four revealed the show was "coming this fall", with the November release placing it firmly in the middle of the season.

Who is in the cast of Yellowstone season four?
All the main cast are returning for the new season, with Kevin Costner once again leading the series as John Dutton.
All the Dutton family are coming back, including Kayce (played by Luke Grimes), Beth (Kelly Reilly), Jamie (Wes Bentley), and Monica (Kelsey Asbille).
The trailer also confirmed Rip Wheeler’s return (Cole Hauser), with Roarke (Josh Holloway) also coming back as the series antagonist.
Jimmy Hurdstom will also be back, with the star Jefferson White recently telling fans that season four would be “worth the wait” on Instagram.
Is there a trailer for Yellowstone season four?
Yes, Paramount has released two trailers for the new season, with the latest dropping on September 2.
The new trailer finally gave fans a look at what to expect from the fourth season, as the first revealed very little.
Once again the new trailer shows the devastating attack on the Dutton family seen at the end of season three, with Kayce, Beth and John all either shot, or in Beth's case, subject to a horrifying bomb explosion.
Jamie is seen in shock upon hearing about the attack, then Monica and Rip looks to be gearing up back on the ranch, with more action almost certain to follow.

What is the plot of Yellowstone season four?
The plot for season four is being kept under wraps, with little being revealed about the upcoming season.
It is known that the next season will take place almost immediately after the events of season three, with the last scene of the trailer confirming that.
Fans should expect answers on who attacked the Duttons, specifically who sent the bomb to Beth’s office and who shot John.
All signs point to Roarke being to blame, though the series is known for surprising viewers with shocking twists.
Anticipation for season four is only building, as Paramount’s ambiguity over the new season just fuelling more speculation.
Reacting to the trailer, one fan wrote: “Just finished season 3.......... ALMOST A YEAR AGO!! Enough of the wait already!!!!!”
Another added: “I just binge-watched all 3 seasons... omg... fall needs to come soon!”
“Cannot believe this fantastic series has received no Emmy or Golden Globe nominations. Something is Very Wrong, this series is beyond fantastic,” a third commented.
Yellowstone season four will be available to watch on November 7, 2021 on the Paramount Network. The UK release date is unconfirmed.

Yellowstone season 4: Trailer, release date, cast and more
The new, full Yellowstone season 4 trailer is stoking excitement for the next chapter of the Dutton family saga. Kevin Costner shared the video with the sly caption, "I don’t know if you’re ready for this one." We have a pretty good feeling John Dutton will survive the shooting that took place in the previous finale, but many fans are still anxious about the ranching patriarch's fate.
The Paramount Network previously confirmed the hit show's return in November. That's a hell of a wait to find out what happened to the Dutton family after season 3's explosive finale. Still, that gives everyone plenty of time to watch Yellowstone seasons 1-3 and catch up on all the wild, western action.
The drama stars Costner as John Dutton, the sixth-generation patriarch of the Dutton family, who controls the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. This is still frontier country and the ranch is under constant attack by land developers, an Indian reservation, and the nearby national park.
John's family includes son Kayce Dutton, a former Navy SEAL whose wife, Monica, is Native American. There's daughter Beth Dutton, a financier who has struggled with substance abuse problems. Younger son Jamie Dutton is a lawyer and aspiring politician. And Rip Wheeler is the ranch foreman with romantic ties to Beth.
The explosive season 3 finale left with many of the Duttons' lives hanging in the balance. No one is totally safe — not even Costner! (Kidding, he's totally safe.)
Here's everything we know so far about Yellowstone season 4.
Yellowstone season 4 release date
Paramount Network has set the Yellowstone season 4 release date for Sunday, November 7.
Fans have been waiting for a confirmed premiere date for months. Many were hoping to see season 4 drop around Father's Day, since all three previous seasons premiered in the month of June. And filming wrapped all the way back in November (though some reshoots took place this spring). Oh well, they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Yellowstone season 4 trailer and teasers
The first full Yellowstone season 4 trailer is packed with action and emotional face-offs. "Don't you die on me," Rip Wheeler orders a bloodied John Dutton, who was caught in a hailstorm of bullets.
Meanwhile, the nefarious Garrett is spinning words again to his biological son, Jamie Dutton. He doesn't believe in the concepts of "fair" or "moral. "What about right or wrong?" Jamie asks. And Garrett replies, "There’s no such thing."
Previously, Paramount Network dropped the very first Yellowstone season 4 teaser trailer in early July, giving us our first glimpse at footage from the upcoming season. While much of the footage is re-edited scenes from previous episodes, we do get our first look at Rip and John in the aftermath of the third season finale.
Yellowstone season 4: Kevin Costner photos
Costner is fairly active on Instagram, where he's posted a few shots from filming Yellowstone season 4.
The first arrived in October, mid-production. "It's hard to beat Montana in October," he raves.
In another post in February, he hypes up fans for the new season. OK, but couldn't you give us a video teaser?
In April, Costner posted that he was "missing Yellowstone Ranch." But still no word on a premiere date.
Yellowstone season 4 cast
The cast of Yellowstone is led by Kevin Costner as John Dutton, a sixth-generation patriarch of the Dutton family who operate the Yellowstone/Dutton Ranch.
He's joined by cast members including:
- Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, John's son and a former US Navy SEAL
- Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, John's daughter and a financier
- Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, John's son and an attorney and aspiring politician.
- Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, the ranch foreman and love interest of Beth
- Kelsey Asbille as Monica Long Dutton, Kayce's wife who is Native American
- Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Kayce and Monica's son
- Gil Birmingham as Chief Thomas Rainwater, chief of the nearby Native American tribe
- Ian Bohen as Ryan, a ranch hand
- Forrie J. Smith as Lloyd Pierce, a senior ranch hand
- Jefferson White as Jimmy Hurdstrom, a ranch hand
- Denim Richards as Colby, a ranch hand
Season 3 introduced some new faces to the ranch, but it's unclear if they'll be back for season 4. They include Josh Holloway as Roarke Morris, Karen Pittman as Willa Hays and Will Patton as Garrett Randall.
Deadline also reports that there will be new cast members arriving in the fourth season, including Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom) as Caroline Warner, the "CEO of Market Equities that is trying to crush the hold that John Dutton has on his sprawling Montana ranch."
Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs), Kathryn Kelly (Nashville), and Finn Little (Those Who Wish Me Dead) are also joining the show's cast.
Yellowstone season 4 plot and spoilers
Yellowstone season 4 will have a huge cliffhanger to resolve, after the season finale ended so explosively. A bomb went off in Beth's office, while Kayce and John were targeted in separate shootings. Will the three Duttons survive?
The teaser has already confirmed that John survives the events of the finale. Must have something to do with the "powerful" resolution Kevin Costner claimed the character has in a local Fox interview.
As for Beth, both Reilly and Hauser have talked about her future with Rip, which implies that she makes it out of the bombing. Assuming Beth lives, perhaps she and Rip will finally make it official and get married.
That said, there's also been plenty of online speculation that Beth does die, with one Reddit thread, reported on in Country Living, suggesting that the fact that John lives makes it more likely that Beth doesn't. We have no way of knowing whether any of this is true, of course, but it's always fun to see what people think.
At any rate, fans can look forward to season 4 starting at a "breakneck pace," according to cast member White. It seems likely that the Duttons and their allies will respond to the bombing and shootings with some kind of retribution. As Hauser told Deadline, season 4 episode 1 could be titled, "Wrath of Rip."
"Everybody’s in danger in Montana after that," he said. Given the teaser trailer's focus on revenge, it seems as though the Duttons will be settling some scores.
Another intriguing storyline set up for season 4 is the tense relationship between the Duttons and the indigenous people of the area. Things look to boil over and Monica may be a key part of that, as she figures to become a leader of the local tribe.
Yellowstone fans are getting even more Dutton ranch action with a prequel series on Paramount Plus. Titled Y:1883, the spinoff is set 125 years in the past, before the family was wealthy or influential.
According to Paramount Plus, Y:1883 "follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land—Montana."
Y:1883 is set to premiere sometime in 2021. Check out the teaser trailer:
