A radiator overflow tank collects the expanding coolant that is heated by the engine and recycles it back into the coolant system once it loses enough heat. The radiator overflow tank works in conjunction with the radiator cap to protect the engine and prevent coolant loss due to overflow.

This replacement engine coolant reservoir is manufactured from premium plastic to withstand the stresses of under-hood heat and engine vibration. It is thoroughly tested to ensure optimum fit and performance on specific vehicle applications.

    • Direct replacement - this engine coolant reservoir fits and functions like original equipment for a trouble-free installation
    • Complete assembly - includes reservoir and reservoir cap

2005 Honda Accord - Coolant Recovery Tank

As your engine heats up, the coolant expands and may overflow. The coolant reservoir collects the hot coolant for recycling back into the radiator once it has cooled down. If you are often adding more coolant to the reservoir, you might have a leak. You might see coolant leaking if the tank is cracked or damaged. If your vehicle leaks too much coolant, your engine can overheat. This can lead to head gasket failure or even a cracked engine block. Filling the coolant reservoir only up to the fill line will prevent tank overflow. O'Reilly Auto Parts has engine coolant reservoir tanks, and all the other parts for your repair.

Solution For Collapsed Coolant Hose In A Car

The following article details a quick picture guide on how to add engine coolant (antifreeze) to a Honda Accord.

It is a good idea to check the level of your engine coolant every 15,000 miles or so.

What is the Purpose of Antifreeze?

Antifreeze coolant is a liquid that circulates through your car’s radiator to help cool down the engine. Antifreeze coolant has both a lower freezing point and a higher boiling point than water, making it great for cooling your engine without freezing when it gets too cold.

When you buy through links on this site, I might earn a commission – at no cost to you.

The vehicle shown in this article is a  2004 Honda Accord.

    CAUTION:

    • Antifreeze coolant gets very hot when your car is running. Therefore, DO NOT OPEN the radiator cover when the car has just been running, or even if it is still warm. Hot steam can cause you to be very badly burned.
    • Antifreeze is poisonous, but might smell good. DON’T DRINK IT! Also, don’t let your pets drink it. Keep any unused antifreeze covered and away from pets and small children!

    Tools and supplies needed:

Procedure to Add Coolant to a Honda Accord

    Alright, let’s get started!

The first step is to pop the hood and locate the radiator.

    01-coolant-reservoir-honda-accord

The radiator is at the front of the engine bay. In addition to the radiator cap there is also a plastic ‘transparent’ overflow tank with a plastic cover.

    02-coolant-reservoir-honda-accord

Here is a photo of the overflow tank showing the MIN and MAX lines. This makes it very easy. In this case, the coolant level is between the marks, but a little on the low side. We just want to add antifreeze until it is up to the MAX line.

    04-coolant-level-honda-accord

Remove the cap on the overflow reservoir by unscrewing it and lifting it out.

    03-coolant-reservoir-cap-removed

You need to be a little bit careful at this point. Depending on the type of fluid you have, you may need to add some distilled water. So, check the writing on the bottle. If it says “pre-mixed,” then you don’t need to add any distilled water, you are good to go. Here is a link to genuine Honda pre-mixed anti-freeze.

Note: If your anti-freeze is full strength, dilute it with 50% antifreeze, 50% distilled water. For cold climates, you can use a mix of 70% antifreeze and 30% distilled water.

    05-coolant-mixture-70-30

Once you have determined the correct mixture, go ahead and fill the overflow tank up to the MAX line, as shown below.

    06-fill-reservoir-honda-accord-coolant

And that’s about it! Re-insert the plastic cover, and you are all set!

    DOE/SAE Compliance - FMVSS 108

Auto parts manufacturers must adhere to a strict set of guidelines in order to meet the criteria laid out by FMVSS 108. Any lights or reflectors that adorn vehicles traveling on public roads MUST adhere to the regulations; otherwise, the manufacturer is subject to a slew of penalties.

Some of the FMVSS 108 guidelines include:

    • Technical specifications (illumination, construction)
    • Proper product marking
    • Manufacturer registration

While the regulations are designed primarily for manufacturers, consumers must always be sure that any lights that they install on their vehicles also meet these regulations. Citations can be issued for products that do not meet the minimum regulatory requirements.

All of the parts carried on Go-Parts.com are FMVSS 108 compliant, as the designs have endured extensive testing. Our manufacturers only produce replacement lights that meet the highest of industry standards, ensuring on-road safety and reducing the probability of breakdowns in component construction.

Replace Coolant Overflow Reservoir in a 7th generation (2001-2005) Civic

Okay, I'll think about a couple of days, and you plan to ditch the business with this couple. You may be a brother, but the amount is sensitive for me. If you can convince me, I will take out part of the turnover, partly with a credit in the bank, under my own company.

So that it was not stressful. I will highlight the Gazelle for you, but for this you will pay me a percentage on the credit.

    Now discussing:

She understood that she deserved her anger, and when the moans were almost impossible to restrain, the girl, through force, began to beg for a second. Chance. She began to promise that she would correct herself, that she would be an obedient bitch, if only the punishment would stop. Svetlana Sergeevna smiled contentedly and threw the whip aside.
