‘The Sims 4: City Living’ Features: 2 New Traits, Aspiration, Flea Market & More Objects Announced [PHOTOS]
More details about The Sims 4: City Living began to trickle in on Twitter this weekend and the scope of the San Myshuno expansion pack keeps growing. There’s 30 new lots altogether, including more than one penthouse, a more affordable two-story apartment and a fancy three-level flat. Even more exciting, with City Living comes not one, but two brand new traits-- unflirty and vegetarian. The Sims team didn’t shy away from adding a new aspiration either. Make your Sim a City Native and they’ll want to take advantage of everything San Myshuno has to offer.
A retail site (via The Sims Community) has also leaked details about another new City Living feature. In addition to festivals, there will be a flea market. Sell your Sim’s craft to make extra simoleons. Gameplay details are still scarce.
Emily Zeinner, a former Sims 4 concept artist who worked on City Living , has been posting some of her designs to Twitter. She pointed out many objects we didn’t notice in the trailers and teasers. Take a look below. There’s a platformed bed and new wall lighting, both styled like something you’d see in an industrial loft building. A ‘hipster’ ottoman doubles as a record shelf (does this mean there is a record player too?). We also get new seating, modern shelves and a super cool see-through ‘runner’ carpet covered in rose petals. You can also decorate your apartment with a variety of new colorful paintings.
I love LOVE LOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEE the flea market sales objects that came with City Living! I like how they provide a way to start off your retail business without having to own a full venue like in Get to Work, which I feel is something to work up to. And I like that I can sell things on a home lot too. I like making multi purpose lots, so the fact that I can use sales tables practically anywhere makes them a really useful object to me!
I wanted to add the code to more objects, so I could create a bit more of a professional look to my home businesses. I particularly wanted one of the cake fridges and the bakery shelves. I edited their meshes to remove the decorative objects that take up room on the shelves, touched-up the textures, and added loads more slots! Then I gave them tuning to give them the functions of the sales table, and I made them drag-able in Live mode.
I also added an extra table on request for people who want to create a historical or rustic market. I cloned a table from Get Together and gave it the flea market table code but I haven’t given it extra slots. I did remove the slots for chairs and plates though, so it can’t be used as a dining table.
Since these objects are cloned from the official game they rely on resources in the appropriate expansion packs:
* Bakery Stand and Refrigerated Display – Get to Work and City Living are required!
* Rustic Table – Get Together and City Living are required!
The zip contains the separate files for each object, so you can just install whichever wants you want. The refrigerated display has custom tuning which is contained in that file.

* These objects were made and edited using Sims4Studio and G.I.M.P.
* Edited versions of these objects have already been made by other simmers, I also have SrslySims’ version in my game which act like the normal fridge and shelves but are also decluttered, recoloured, and have more slots. You can use both versions in game and they don’t conflict. Great if you want both functions!
* The small herbs in the image and the string lights are by Omorfi Mera and there are loads of other great objects to check out at her blog!
* The stepladder shelf is by Around the Sims and there are more fab items there for gardening loving Sims!
* There are also some separated objects that are by OrangeMittens.

Sims 4 City Living introduced a range of festivals that happen in different locations in San Myshuno. The festivals occur randomly but you usually get two to three festivals a week. This guide covers the Flea Market. For more information about festivals in general please read our main festivals guide or if you want to know about a particular festival read below:
Finding Out About Festivals in the Sims 4
To find out when a festival takes place you can check the noticeboard in your apartment lobby. All festivals will have a poster up about a day or so before the festival, and an option to read the festival poster. The poster will tell you where and when the festival is on, and what you might expect from attending. If the festival is in progress when you select this option, the noticeboard will start shimmering, and you can use it to travel to the festival.
Sims 4 Flea Market
The Sims 4 Flea Market is held on Sundays between 10am and 6pm on the Waterside Warble lot in the Spice District. It gives your sim the opportunity to trade collectibles, sell their wares and buy unique pieces of furniture.
What’s on Sale at the Flea Market
The flea market does not have a swag stall like other festivals. Instead it gives the opportunity to buy and sell collectibles and other inventory items or to buy unique pieces of furniture. The furniture is placed on blankets at the entrance to the flea market. It is randomly stocked with items that you may not be able to buy in build mode, or at least be in unique colours.
You can buy an item by simply clicking on it, or you can first haggle with the vendor to, hopefully, get a reduction in price.
The flea market also has three food stalls offering the following unlockable recipes:
|Lumpia||Bhei Puri||Banh Mi|
You can also buy collectibles on offer at the tables, by talking to a vendor. You can haggle with the vendor to reduce their prices.
Selling Items at the Flea Market in the Sims 4
You can sell collectibles, books, produce and sculptures you have crafted at the woodworking table on the flat table at the flea market and posters and paintings at the upright display board. To start selling you will need to fill the table’s inventory then stock the table, and then start tending. Other sims will wander up to the stall and they may buy the goods on offer. You can persuade them to buy goods by giving them a sales pitch.
If you want to attract more customers you can click on the table and start a street sale which will create an event where more sims will come to your table. If you want to increase your prices at which you can sell your items you can click on the table and select mark up goods to choose the mark up you add to your goods.
Trading Collectibles at the Flea Market in the Sims 4
If your sim has any collectibles (excluding produce) in their inventory then they can trade with other sims. You can trade crystals, fossils, frogs, metals, my sims trophies, posters or snow globes. For example if you have snow globes in your inventory, you can click on another sim and offer to trade snow globes. You can select which snow globe you want to trade and swap it with that sim for another random snow globe. This is a useful way to get rid of any duplicates and it may help you complete a collection.
Other Activities at the Flea Market in the Sims 4
There are two bubble blowers with a range of flavours available to use at the flea market. Each flavour will give your sim a different moodlet.
There is also a performance spot where your sim can either listen to other performers or perform on the guitar or violin in order to, hopefully, receive tips from other festival goers.
FLEA MARKET FINDS - PART 1 (Spring Shabby Living)
For my Granny Sims I included shabby pattern choices, but for more Bohemian types there are also some brighter, fun patterns to choose from. These are re-creations of my old TS2 Spring Shabby Living objects. Everything required major reworking so you can say these flea market finds were definitely repurposed!
This set includes 11 objects - armchair, loveseat, sofa, chandelier, coffee table, and clutter! (knitting basket, needlepoint project, keepsake box with treasures, faded art in antique frames, wall planters, and a pot of daisies). All can be found by typing tkangie_FleaMarket in your search box.
++Download Here++ (SimFileShare)
Files can be downloaded separately or all in one .rar file. I hope you can have some fun with these. I also have a bedroom set to rework and hope to get to it before spring is over.
Recolor or take my files apart and remake or improve them, but please give me credit for the originals. A link back to here would be lovely but is not mandatory for your uploaded photos. I just like to see if anyone uses my creations.
I can’t pass this up! I must have it!!! Mine! LOL, thank you.Sours: https://blewis50.tumblr.com/post/142952455817/flea-market-finds-part-1-spring-shabby-living

The Sims 4 Wiki Guide
A big part of festivals is the food you can buy. Food is cheap and available from market stalls, but your Sims will likely want to share their edibles with their friends. You can buy food any time, not necessarily during a festival, though festivals will offer some unique meals.
Eating any of the new meals will allow your Sim to understand its recipe and can make it themselves. Note that this is the only way to learn these recipes: even with Level 10 Cooking and Gourmet Cooking Skills, the Sim must try a meal before they can recreate it. Note that recipe knowledge is per-Sim, not per-household.
Finish Your FoodWhen attempting to learn a recipe bought from a food stall, you are required to finish your meal before your Sim learns it. This can be pretty rough when you're trying to force a Vegetarian Sim to learn a meat-based recipe!
Recipes here may be spicy, require chopsticks, or both. These are unmarked skills: the more often the Sim eats spicy food the more they can tolerate it, and the more often they eat food with chopsticks the better skilled they are using the utensils. They are unleveled, and usually the Sim will master the "skill" after just a few meals. You can further practice it by making the meals yourself.
Flea Market (Spice District)
The Flea Market festival is arguably the least exciting one and won't help you with most of your skills. However, the tables are open for anyone's business, and you can set up shop yourself to sell your Collectibles. You can't sell any random item (you would need the Get to Work Expansion Pack and your own retail shop for that), but you can sell postcards, rocks, minerals, metals, and so on. Your Charisma Skill can help boost your prices.
Humor and Hijinks (Arts District)
The Humor and Hijinks festival will help your Sims work on their Comedy and Mischief Skills. With lots of open mics and nearby voodoo dolls, Sims can help themselves with certain Aspirations. Sims with the Deviance Aspirations will especially be helped during this festival since there will be plenty of targets around to practice those mischief-type interactions.
GeekCon (Fashion District)
GeekCon is made for gamers and logically minded Sims, helping those respective Skills. Sims can gain Handiness well here, and Sims with high Video Game skills could play against others in a LAN Party for cash prizes. GeekCon also features rockets, one fully built and one not, that can be used for space exploration or simply working on your building skill.
