I have a axis 223 in dros and want to get my scope mount before i pick it up. I got the un scoped version so it only has tapped and threads. I just want the basic two piece weaver mounts. Best i can tell the PN # is 46. Nothing i see in the sporting goods stores says Savage Axis. is a model 110 the same mounting thanks. I know many like the one piece rail but that is not what i want.
THANKS

If the Axis .223 is a hunting / plinking rifle ( then two Piece Ok ) if precision then one piece if matching with premium scope.

One thing to consider...depending on what scope you put on the rifle proper eye relief may not be achived with the two piece mounts. When I upgraded scopes on my wife's Axis, I had to go to a one piece base so I could move the scope to the correct space.

I have Evolution Gun Works 0 MOA rail/mount on my Savage Axis 1.0.

Here it is on my Axis -- glass is cheap Accushot/Leapers for now. Holds zero though.

The Axis takes the same two piece bases as the 10/110, RAR and Remingtion 783. Pre-AccuTrigger models take a different rear base. A one piece base will probably be specific to the Axis only. The reason is because the distance between the rear hole in the front base and the front hole in the rear base is normally different in different rifle models.

Someone mentioned getting a one piece base. I recommend a one piece picatinny. That way you will never have issues with a scope tube being too short or long. I used to use two piece Warnes but switched to the EGW bases recently because of mounting issues.

If you want an infinitely adjustable base get a Davidson and you won't be stuck with the Picatinny slot spacing.
The Davidson dovetail base is available at Sinclair's or Bruno's and if you get a blank your gunsmith can drill the holes for just about any action.

I do not like how a one piece looks on a bolt rifle.Sure does look like it would interfere with cartridge ejection. I am sure it does not.
thanks for all the input.

No more than the Axis receiver already does...

I don't like how they look either but got tired of buying scopes that could not be mounted on certain rifles using two piece bases.

Umm you do know the bolt handle hits most scopes on the axis.

A 40mm 3x9 should be OK. But the bigger scopes have problems.

Make you life easy use Burris Zee Rings.

Umm you are totally wrong. Objective size has nothing to do with a bolt handle hitting the scope. The diameter of the ocular bell/eyepiece is the determining factor. In fact a scope with a 50mm objective is less likely to be hit by a bolt handle than a 40mm objective scope because they have to be mounted higher.

when you say pre accu trigger do you mean cheaper axis [ the one i have ] or do you mean rifles made before the accu trigger came out maybe 5 years ago.

I did a little searching around and saw some comments that say the Axis is different from the 110. Sounds like you need a Weaver #46. They wont list it for a particular gun, only that it fits that gun. I don't know if they list a cross reference to find it by what other gun it fits.

The Savage rifles manufactured before they came out with the AccuTrigger. The rear of the receivers is flat on the older rifles, round on the new ones.

I mount scopes for a living. The Savage 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 110, 111, 112, 114, 116, Axis, Axis II, Edge, Stevens 200 and 2000, Remington 783 and Ruger American centerfire rifles all take the same two piece bases. This holds true for all Savage/Stevens rifles produced since the AccuTrigger came out, including rifles that don't have the AccuTrigger i.e. Axis, Edge and Stevens. The Axis takes a different one piece base than the Savage models that are numbered. The two digit Savage models above are short action and take the same one piece base, the three digit Savage models are long action and take the same base. This holds true no matter the brand of bases, at least the ones I've used and that covers most of them I believe.

Mounting a scope on a Savage is a fairly easy task. Many manufacturers make bases and rings for the rifles.

Midway has nine pages of examples of mounts that fit Savage rifles, so you're going to have to narrow your choice down. One piece or two piece, Redfield system or Weaver style. They all work, they're all good, they don't have any slop in them if properly mounted.

I wouldn't call any of your questions idiotic, but as long as the base is mounted properly (degrease all holes, go slowly and try to get everything centered, use Loc-tite to make sure the screws stay tight) you shouldn't have any problems. In your price range, there are plenty of good scopes that will suit that .243 just fine.

I've got a Savage 11 in .243 and it's a fine little rifle. I have a Redfield system for mounting and have a good Simmons scope on it. It took one deer this year and it's one of my favorite rifles.

Tolik, meanwhile, pulled away from my "pussy" And after a couple of seconds I felt his penis burst into my vagina. He entered immediately to the end and began to move madly inside.

Taking her penis in her right hand, she brought it closer to Tanya's vagina, and then began to slowly insert the head there. When the head of the penis disappeared behind the folds of the vagina, Vika bent over her mistress and dug into her lips with. A passionate kiss, and the penis slowly began to sink into her womb of love. Tanya's eyes widened with horror, it seemed she had sober up, but it was too late.
