Every New Minecraft Mob Coming Later This Year

The Caves and Cliffs update for Minecraftis going to be released sometime this year, and along with some massively overhauled biomes, the update will feature a few new mobs. There are four different mobs in the works that will be released as a part of Minecraft's Caves and Cliffs update, and they range from docile to deadly in nature. This article will take a look at each new mob coming to Minecraft next.

Mobs are some of the most interesting additions to Minecraft when it comes to these massive updates. With each new mob comes a world of possibilities as well as a fear of the unknown. Hostile mobs, such as Creepers and skeletons, are great sources of valuable resources, but they also pose serious threats to the player. Passive mobs, such as sheep or horses, are useful in their own way, and players don't have to worry about them biting the hand that feeds them. There are also mobs, both passive and hostile, that are less exciting or resourceful, making them weaker additions to the game.

The four upcoming mobs are vastly different from one another, and it's hard to tell if any of them will be as useful as older mobs. Each adds a bit of new excitement to different biomes, but Minecraft has yet to reveal how they will affect the game in the long run. Regardless, here are the four mobs that will be added later this year during the Caves and Cliffs update.

New Minecraft Mob: The Warden

Along with Skulk Sensors, Crystals, and Copper, The Warden will be added to the darkest depths of Minecraft. This hostile mob will roam the new and improved cave biomes looking for its next victim. However, it will have to look with its ears instead of its eyes. The Warden is blind due to its prolonged stay underground and has to use echolocation to find the player. If a player runs, breaks a block, shuts a door, or makes any noises in The Warden's vicinity, they are as good as dead. This mob is both super fast and strong, making it one Minecraft mob players will want to avoid.

New Minecraft Mob: Goats

The new Minecraft update not only renovates the underground caverns but also makes some improvements to the various mountain biomes. The perilous cliffsides will now be home to Minecraft's newest neutral mob: Mountain Goats. These mountain dwellers will attempt to ram enemies and entities off of their cliff-homes and can jump incredibly high. They drop raw mutton when killed and goat horns when ramming into hard blocks.

New Minecraft Mob: Axolotl

The Axolotl is an amphibious mob that is passive towards players but hostile towards other aquatic mobs. Similar to wolves and cats, the Axolotl can be tamed and accompany the player on underwater adventures.

The Axolotl can be ruthless in underwater combat, but can also be easily distracted by fish and squid. To tame these cuties the player will need to catch them in a bucket as they would fish.

New Minecraft Mod: Glow Squid

The final upcoming mob is the Glow Squid, which won the community vote over the Moobloom and Iceologer. This mob shares the same character model as Minecraft's original squid and looks identical except for its glowing skin. The Glow Squid is still found in oceans as well as inside caves, and they drop Glow Ink Sacs when killed. This is a new item added in the Caves and Cliffs update, but the use for it has yet to be revealed.

These four mobs will be added to Minecraftas a part of update 1.17 which is slated to release sometime this year. It's speculated the update will release this Spring or Summer, and it won't be until then that players will begin to understand how these mobs can be used. With the number of new blocks, mobs, and resources being added as a part of the Caves and Cliffs update, players can definitely expect to see a few new farms be developed.

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update is coming next summer - here's what to expect

Mojang's next major addition, which was announced during Minecraft Live, is all about overhauling caves and mountains, hopefully letting us bid farewell to repetitive cave expeditions.

Minecraft: Caves and Cliffs will be dropping in the summer of 2021, and there's plenty to look forward to other than the obvious.

You can watch the full replay of the Minecraft Live show right here:

From new biomes to completely new monster mobs, here is everything we can expect to see in the new update.

New mobs

During the show, Mojang revealed two new mobs – basically monsters and animals – coming to the game.

First is the incredibly adorable Axolotl and the somewhat adorable Warden.

The adorable axolotl

Mobs are the name for the monsters and creatures you'll find in the world of Minecraft, they range from animals to zombies to pig people.

Axolotl will be passive and won't attack you like other creatures and it makes sense that they would simply try and run (or swim) away if you attack them... you monster.

Minecraft characters will be the next DLC fighter in Smash Ultimate

Wardens, on the other than, will be hostile and attack you on sight! If you wander too close, they will try to locate you based on your movement instead of being able to see you.

The Minecraft community was also given the chance to decide the next mob added to the game and it has been revealed as the Glow Squid.

The Glow Squid will most likely be added sooner than the others, which are coming in the summer update.

New cave variants

Caves will now become a lot more interesting than before.

New players might at first be wowed by the current state of caves, which are intricate and wonderfully confounding, but even though they are all randomly generated, there won't be many surprises left after you've gone spelunking more than once.

This new cave variation will allow for things like narrow tunnels, massive underground cave lakes and waterfalls and more to spawn in, giving caves a much-needed refresher.

If that's not enough to get your explore on, then the new archaeology system is sure to pique your interest.

Channel your inner Indiana Jones and unearth special items in blocks. If you find one, you'll have to use the new Brush item to delicately extract it from the ground without damaging it and then you can examine it.

New mountain variants

Just like with caves, there will be much more varied cliffs and mountains to explore in the new update.

For the most part, all the mountains experienced in Minecraft give you a great view, but don't offer much variety – this update is going to remedy that.

When the Caves and Cliffs update launches, the game will have more mountains, snow traps which will plunge you into the ground if you're not careful and, more importantly, there will be mountain goats.

The new lesson to Minecraft: Education Edition will feature the Black Lives Matter movement

Also announced was the addition of craftable telescopes so you can gaze up into the night sky. New blocks will be added as well as new creations to craft from them like motion sensors.

Mojang is also adding a new lesson to its Minecraft: Education Edition, which will cover equality and inclusion as well as a map that will take students through important civil rights movements in our history.

Minecraft is available to buy on PC, Xbox, PS4 and Switch.

Minecraft 1.19 : The Wild Update

Minecraft Live took place on 3 October and the promise of huge updates to the game did not disappoint.

Makers Mojang have announced an update called Caves & Cliffs which will be dropping in the summer of 2021.

Expect to go cave diving and cliff climbing in a cave that now has features like waterfalls, huge caverns and cave lakes! What a glow up!

So, what other fun stuff was revealed? We've got it covered below.

Give a big welcome to possibly the cutest mob ever! The axolotl was revealed as one of the new mobs

Say goodbye to the dull and dreary caves of old!

The new update will generate caves with much more variation, with narrow tunnels, huge cave lakes and underground waterfalls.

Ever wanted to build a telescope? Well this update will let you do just that.

Players will also have an archaeology system where they can find items buried in ruins. You'll be encouraged to use a brush to carefully dig an artefact out without damaging it. Move over Indiana Jones!

There will also be new blocks, like the Sculk Sensor that reacts to movement by letting out a redstone signal that gives players more ways to create contraptions.

Expect stalactite and stalagmite blocks that make up the inner rocks in the cave and a copper ore that can help make a lighting rod block!

To enjoy the CBBC Newsround website at its best you will need to have JavaScript turned on.

Mojang also revealed two new mobs that will be coming - the Axolotl and the Warden.

Mobs are creatures in the Minecraft world. They are the players, the villagers and the monsters that can be spawned or destroyed.

The Axolotl is a creature that lives in pools of water and can help players during a battle. This mob is very friendly and super cute.

The Wardens are a not-so-friendly hostile mob and they react to movement rather than sight.

Players voted for a new mob to join the game

During the live event, players were able to cast their vote for the next mob that is added to the game.

The choice was between Moobloom, Iceologer and Glow Squid. And the Glow Squid won!

The Glow Squid might look scary but is pretty chilled and won't attack you. The coolest thing about this mob is it glows in dark waters.

Have you ever seen a goat this square before?!

There's also new features coming to cliffs. It will include more spectacular mountain generation, snow traps, and even mountain goats!

Other news to come from the live event was a new Equality and Inclusion lesson category that will be added to Mincecraft: Education Edition. It will have a map that takes students through historic civil rights movements.

Minecraft: Education Edition will have a new map focused on civil rights

Meanwhile, Minecraft Dungeons will be getting crossplay across PC and consoles, which is perfect for people who want to play with friends across PS4, Switch, Xbox One, or PC.

And that's not all! A free game update called Apocalypse plus is also being added to Minecraft Dungeons along with a new area called The Howling Peaks.

There will also be new enchantments and items to use in battle.

What do you think to the updates? Let us know in the comments below.

List of tameable mobs in Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update

Three new mobs have been added to Minecraft in the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update, which was released on 8th June, 2021 by Mojang. The newly added mobs are goats, glow squid, and axolotls.

Mobs in Minecraft can be divided into categories based on their behavior towards the players - passive, neutral, and hostile.

Taming and breeding are two of the most significant ways of interacting with all the passive and neutral mobs present in the game. Including the newly added aquatic mob axolotl, there are a total of eleven tameable mobs in Minecraft.

All tamable animals in Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update

11) Mule

A Mule (Image via Minecraft)

Mules are mobs that are born when a donkey and horse are crossbred. Players can tame an adult mule by forcefully riding it until it stops resisting and lets the player take control.

Once the mule stops bucking the player, they can open the inventory while riding it and place a saddle on the mule.

10) Parrot

Five variants of Parrots (Image via 3DWarehouse)

Parrots are colorful and fun little mobs that can be found rarely in Jungle biomes. Unfortunately, parrots only have a 2% chance of spawning, making it extremely difficult to spot one in the wild.

Parrots can be tamed by feeding them wheat, melon, beetroot, or pumpkin seeds, with only a 0.34% chance of success.

9) Cat

Two cats (Image via Minecraft)

Cats are cute and speedy little mobs in Minecraft that can be found in villages and swamp huts. The player can tame these rapid little animals by feeding them raw cod and raw salmon.

8) Ocelot

Two ocelots (Image via Minecraft Fandom)

Ocelots are rare and passive mobs that can be found in the Jungle biome. They look like cheetahs and can be tamed by sneaking up on them and then feeding it raw cod or salmon.

But, unlike the cat, these mobs, even after being tamed, do not sit on the player's command. Instead, they will simply not run away from the player.

7) Fox

Two adult and a baby fox (Image via gamesradar)

Foxes are fast and agile animals that spawn in taiga biomes in groups of 2-4. There is a unique variety of foxes that are white and can be found in the snowy taiga biome.

Taming foxes is complicated, as they are fast and will always run away, and players also need to find and keep the two of them together.

Players need two foxes to breed to get a baby fox, because only a baby born by breeding will be loyal to the player.

6) Horse

A horse in plains (Image via Minecraft)

Horses in Minecraft can be found in the plains biome or savanna biome in a herd of 2-6 horses. They can be tamed just like a mule, by riding them until they don't buck the player. A saddle can then be placed to use it for travel.

5) Skeleton Horse

Two Skeleton Horses (Image via Minecraft)

When a regular horse is hit by a bolt of lightning, it turns into a Skeleton Horse. The Skeleton horse formed will have a skeleton riding it, and after killing the skeleton, they can be tamed.

Taming a Skeleton horse is very simple. First, players need to ride it by right-clicking on it, and then they can put a saddle on it.

They have the unique ability to float in water. Therefore, once tamed by the player, they be used as transport across water.

4) Llama

Llamas usually spawn in savanna biomes and can be tamed by repetitively riding it until it starts trusting the player.

3) Donkey

A donkey in plains biome (Image via Minecraft)

1-3 donkeys can be found together in the plains biome and Savanna biome. Donkeys always spawn alone in the savanna biome.

Adult donkeys can be tamed by mounting it repeatedly, until they start trusting the player.

2) Wolf

A tamed wolf (Image via Minecraft)

Wolves are one of the fan-favorite tameable animals in Minecraft and are often treated equally to dogs by players. Wolves can be found in forests and taiga biomes.

Taming wolves is as simple as feeding them bones until they trust the players. Once tamed, a wolf will have a collar around its neck.

1) Axolotls
