Total Drama All-Stars Ultimate Episode 18

Episode 18: Wrath of the Fun Zone

Episode Description: After the recap and opening, Scott sitting on the cabin stairway tearfully eating dirt. Zoey walks out of the girl’s side of cabin, and sits next to him. She questions him on why he’s eating dirt. “I’m sad. And when I’m sad, I eat dirt.” Zoey tells him to don’t worry about Heather, and Harold isn’t the type to easily fall for her schemes. “I hope…”

Harold: *in the bathroom confessional* *massages his temples and takes a deep breath* To be frank, I’ve gotten used to Heather’s personality because she kept in touch with me the most. But, I had to spend the entire night with her trying to pull something.

We transition to old scenes of Heather trying to tempt Harold. The first is Heather and Harold eating dinner together. They seem to be having the usual banter until Heather starts rubbing her foot against his. Harold leaves the table claiming that he’s full. Heather calls him out for still having food on his plate. He tells her that he’ll finish it in the morning.

The next moment is Harold heading to the males’ bedroom for the night. He opens the door to find Heather lying in the stomach with feet up position in his bed, giving him the bedroom eyes. Harold quickly grabs a pillow and sheet from nearby. Then, we quickly cut to Harold sleeping in a locked bathroom on the floor with a bath brush in hand.

Harold: *in the bathroom confessional* I like Heather, but I need to draw the line! Here and now!

At breakfast, Harold walks into the dining room to be met by Heather leaning on the table. She yells at him for dodging her all night. Harold tells her the he knows exactly what she’s doing and he’s not falling for it. Heather asks what exactly does he think she wants. Harold says that she trying to make them have a moment again to hold it over him to win. Heather tells that’s not what she doing. Harold tells her that he doesn’t believe her. She yells why. He tells her that he won’t let her do that to him again. Heather begins crying saying that she can’t believe that he thinks she’s lying to him. Harold grabs her by the shoulder and tells her this: “Listen, I was not the one caused us having trust issues! YOU WERE! I might have felt something back then, but gosh darn it, not anymore! All ever wanted was to be your friend! But, all I’m getting is one hit on my trust and my feeling more and more! Until you realize that I’m your friend, I’m NEVER letting you use me! You hear me, Heather! I AM YOUR FRIEND!” (Panel 1) As she backs away and tears up, Heather runs up stair in anger. Harold sits in one of the kitchen chairs and mope.

Later that day, Chris honks the horn of his jeep. As usual, the contestants walk out their respective cabins. Everyone notices that Harold and Heather are angry and not looking at each other. Zoey asks what the matter, only for Harold to tell her not to worry about it. Heather can be seen scowling harder. Chris interrupts to continue to announce that he has a new challenge set up on Boney Island. As well, he has a boat ready to transport them there. As the others get on the boat, “Mike” asks Alejandro to talk to him in private. Alejandro nods. On the boat, Scott asks Heather about what happened between her and Harold. After some hesitation, Heather tells him that they had a big argument about trust. Scott tells her that she needs to stop letting that dork get to her. She tells him that she can’t because it was all her fault. Scott asks to be told everything. We jump cut to Tweeters flying away as Scott yells what. Meanwhile, Alejandro and Mal are in the engine room. Alejandro asks if it’s about Heather and Harold’s current feud. Mal tells him that he’s right on the money. Alejandro thinks that they can use this to their advantage if the challenge works in their favor. After being called outside by Courtney, Mal tells him that they can begin the plan after they reach the island.

Later, the gang walks in front of a giant wooden gate. Chris announces that this is The Fun Zone. Cameron asks why it is called The Fun Zone. Chris explains that when the government came to clean up the island from last season, they moved all the mutated animals here. He and Chef call it fun ironically. Gwen sarcastically says that she can tell. As everyone walks in the gate, we see the interns trying to fight off a giant fly while setting up the challenge. There is a big electric score board with every contestants name on it as well as one giant bowl. Chris announces that this challenge is to collect eggs from creatures on the island. The person with that collects the most wins. People can team up and share eggs as well. He also announces that since he left some Chris Head Statues over from last season by accident. He is now adding them as part of the competition. Meaning anyone who grabs one could be immune from elimination as well as stay at the hotel with the challenge winner. Cameron notices that “Mike” and Alejandro are smiling at each other. Gwen asks what’s wrong with him. Cameron tells her that he caught "Mike" and Alejandro talking last night. He worried that "Mike" teaming up with Alejandro because he was mean to him. After putting her hands on his shoulders, Gwen tells him to don’t get too worried about it, and go talk to him later. Cameron nods.

Chris begins the challenge, everyone scatters to go solo or pair off. Courtney was planning to go with Mike, but he’s missing. Gwen volunteers to go with her. Courtney asks why isn’t she with Cameron. Gwen reveals that that he went to go chat with Mike. She also tells her that they should hang out for old time sake. Courtney says fine as Gwen pulls her off screen. Meanwhile, Scott finds head sized egg in a nest. He and Tweeters look around for any creatures then nabs it. As he runs for it, he wonders where Heather is because she’s missing out on this. Tweeters shrugs. At Heather’s location, she’s mumbling to herself, calling everything she passes stupid. Out of anger, she kicks a big rock. It turns out be a mutant hermit crab. It swings at her. Heather runs away, exclaiming she hates everything.

As Harold and Zoey are looking for eggs, the former is talking about his friends, Phil, Rebecca, and Michelle. Zoey finds it weird for such awkward guy to have so many friends. Harold explains that Phil and Rebecca where his only friends for a long time before High School and Total Drama. Zoey asks does she have to worry about his gal pals. Harold tells her that Rebecca and Michelle will adore her especially compared to Heather. Zoey asks what did Heather do. Harold gives her a look. “Oh RIGHT. She’s Heather…”

At a dark spot in the jungle, Mal and Alejandro are discussing their main plan. Mal calls McLean a genius, and claims that adding the Chris Head Statues just made things more fun. Alejandro rebuts that it made things worse since anyone can get those things. Mal adds that’s why they need to get one first. Alejandro says that he’ll get it. Mal asks if he’s sure. Alejandro tells him that he has his ways. Mal says tell him more as we pan out to Cameron hiding behind a tree over hearing their conversation. (Panel 2)

Meanwhile, Sam and Lindsay bring a couple of eggs in. Since they’re working together, it means that both get two points each. Sam and Lindsay are tied while a now arriving Scott is second. Scott asks them how they got the eggs so easily. Sam explains that they snatched them from a big nesting area of birds that look like everybody. Scott tells Tweeters that they might have found the latter’s family. Sam directs him to the flock’s nesting area. Scott and his bird buddy book it. Lindsay asks Sam was that a good idea. Sam tells her that they could use this as a way to distract him. Lindsay just says okay and pulls Sam to help her find more eggs. Later, Courtney and Gwen are being chased by a giant mutant turtle while caring a big blue egg. Gwen gives it enough blast in the face to scare it off as Courtney puts the egg in the bowl. This gives the ladies on the same placement as Scott.

Cameron finds himself confronting Larry the mutant Venus Fly Trap. Larry is trying to bite Cameron’s head off. Cameron uses his gauntlets as a rocket to help him grab a couple of Larry’s eggs. This makes Larry furious, and swings its tentacles at him. Cameron nearly dodges all of them. Then, Cameron activates his gauntlets’ partial mode to turn his feet into rocket shoes to fly away from Larry as he leaves the plant creature roaring in rage. Back with Heather, she is out of breath, and rest by tree. She looks up with sad look on her face. She tells herself that she wish she listened to Harold when he said it was a bad idea.

Meanwhile, Scott and Tweeters find the bird colony. There are indeed a lot of birds that look like some of the contestants even some that aren’t competing this season. Scott wonders how could this happen. Tweeters is met by a flock cheerfully greeting him. Scott is happy for his bird friend’s family reunion. Tweeters gestures its head to the nest. Scott secretly takes an egg from each nest, and puts them in his pocket. Scott tells Tweeters that it might be best for the little bird to stay with its family. As Scott tearfully waves good and leaves, Tweeter chirps something to the bird colony. An old bird that looks like Owen flies to Tweeters, and gives its blessing. A little bird that looks like Courtney hugs it goodbye. As Scott runs to find the bowl, Tweeters lands on his head. Scott asks why the bird returned. Tweeters only responds with a salute. Scott believes Tweeters wants to help him win the million before going back to his family. Tweeters nods with a determined look on its face. Scott tells Tweeters that he loves it, then they head off to the bowl.

Cameron makes it back to the bowl with his two eggs. Lindsay and Sam are in the lead with five eggs. Gwen and Courtney have three. Scott, Cameron, and Zoey with Harold are currently tied with two eggs. “Mike”, Alejandro, and Heather are still at zero. Scott then runs in with Tweeters with six more eggs, making him the lead with eight. Cameron asks him how he found so many eggs. Scott claims that he is just born lucky. As Sam with Lindsay and Courtney with Gwen return with their eggs, Sam’s team is second place with seven while Gwen’s are third with six. Cameron congratulates them. Gwen thanks him in a flirty manner. Scott asks if he’s trying smooth talk his way into getting more points. Cameron says no way would he stoop so low to gain a lead. Suddenly, one of his eggs hatches. It’s a four Larry babies. Noticeable, one of them look like Chris. The group look disgusted. At Chris’s booth, Chef gives our host a confused look. Chris just whistles, and then changes the subject to Cameron being back to one egg. Cameron face palms while Gwen puts a hand on his shoulder.

Back under the tree, “Mike” walks up to sulking Heather. Heather asks him what he wants. “Mike” tells her that he understand feeling betrayed by those backstabbers. He tells her that he wants to help her win. Heather asks what he means by that. “Mike” tells her that he found an easy batch of eggs in the north. He leaves telling her that she needs to hurry or a certain couple could win it all again. Heather gets up with an angry look, and then runs north. Mal smiles again.

As Zoey and Harold look for more eggs, the former is trying to talk the latter into watching this indie film about flowers and ninjas. Then, a familiar but loud scream hits the air. Harold stops to hear it again. The scream hits the air again. It’s Heather screaming for help. Harold immediately runs to go help her. Zoey tries to stop him, but she’s stopped by Cameron. Zoey yells at Cameron for stopping her. Cameron then tells her this: “Don’t stop him. He needs to do this. I know you worry about Harold a lot especially around Heather, but if they don’t resolve this themselves. They’ll never get over each other.”  Zoey tells him that it’s Heather of all people. “‘Nothing is more important than a true friend.’ Zoey, Harold can be standoffish, but you know that he would never leave a friend in need.” Zoey asks Cameron why is he so passionate about this. Cameron tells her that in away Harold and Heather reminds him of their friendship. Zoey tells him that is a horrible comparison. As he goes to look for more eggs, Cameron tells her that she has nothing to worry about with Heather as long as she doesn’t get involved. He also tells her to keep a lookout for Mike. Before Zoey could ask why, Cameron disappears into the flora of the forest.  Zoey is left in a confused state.

Meanwhile, an egg holding Heather is running away from an angry mutant chicken as it swings its tongue at her from its second mouth. As she’s being chased, a shadowy figure is seen watching everything from the trees. A Tarzan like yell is made as the shadowy figure swings a vine. Heather looks behind her. It is Harold swinging on the vines and branches. He yells to her to pass him the egg, also gaining the chicken’s attention. (Panel 3) Heather yells at him for coming for her rescue again. Harold reminds her that he’s her friend even if she doesn’t like it that way. The chicken’s tongue breaks the tree that Harold swings towards. This leads to him landing in a row of bushes. Harold gets up, and runs next to Heather. The latter yells at him to go away. Harold says he’s not leaving. She asks him how can she trust him if he doesn’t trust her. Harold apologizes about saying he didn’t trust her. Heather apologizes as well for treating him like crap every time he helped her. Heather then passes him the egg, and tells him to keep running right and she’ll meet up with him. Harold nods with genuine smile. (Recommended music: [Link])

Holding the egg, Harold keeps right as Heather goes left. The chicken begins chasing after him. Harold sees Heather running from an intersection. He immediately passes it to her. The giant chicken begins to follow Heather. As it starts to catch up to her, Harold appears from atop the trees, and kicks it right in the face. As it readjusts itself, Harold yells to Heather to pass the egg. She passes it with no problem. They begin to pass the egg in this zigzag formation as they head the direction of the bowl. The chicken begins to be confused by this. However, it begins to tackle the forest down, aiming to take them down in one go. Harold notices this, and saves Heather from destruction of the angry mother. (You can stop listening to the music now.) Unfortunately, the egg gets smashed in the process leaving the duo stuck in odd positions by the sticky egg fluids. The two are disgusted by the situation. Then, they look at each other and begin laughing, (Panel 4) After the mutant chicken heads back to its nest, Harold and Heather help each other up, and head back to the bowl, still laughing.

At the bowl, “Mike" returns with a mutant chicken egg. Courtney playfully teases him for taking so long. “Mike" tells her that it took so long because he and Alejandro were arguing about the directions to go. Scott asks why a goody two shoes like Mike is hanging out with Al. Cameron wants to know also. “Mike” tells them that he wants to give Alejandro a second chance. He believes everyone deserves one. Scott says whatever as Cameron thinks it’s suspicious. Alejandro appears with a goofy grin. Sam asks what he’s happy about. As he puts his arm around Mike, Alejandro says he’s just happy to have such a great amigo. Cameron looks annoyed. Heather and Harold return covered in egg goo, still laughing. Zoey asks them where they been. Harold tells them about being chased by a giant chicken mutant. Scott asks what so funny about it. Heather brings up that they pissed off that “Crazy Bucket of KFC” so much that it went full agro and completely missed them.

As Chris and Chef walk in, the former announces that since an hour has passed, he’s ending the challenge. He announces that Scott is the winner. Scott and Tweeter cheer. Since Heather spent most of the challenge sulking, she is dead last. Heather throws some egg yolk on Chris’s face. A little before the elimination ceremony, Harold speaks with Sam, Lindsay, Zoey, Gwen, and Cameron. He wants them to help him vote out Alejandro. No one disagrees with the idea, but Zoey is noticeably reluctant. Sam tells her while he gets she’s worried about Heather being a threat, but Alejandro definitely needs to go. Zoey says fine with a huff.

Zoey: Argh, Heather has been a pain to my booty since I started hanging with Harold. If my sweet Ginger Muffin thinks she’s cool, I can’t argue.

Mal: Oh, my Sweet. If you only knew…

At the elimination ceremony, Chris tells them that since the merge has begun, the peanut gallery has been put in early retirement. Cameron claims it would have been better than sitting on logs and barrels. Chris tells him that he doesn’t want any more complaints from Cameron after suing his way back into the competition. He then begins the voting.

Harold: Please leave! PLEASE LEAVE!

Zoey: Heather! You better be glad that Harold likes you! I swear it!

Heather: *combing her hair into a new hair style* Alejandro is literally the EASIEST choice.

Scott: Harold Hefner needs to go! He’s turning my Heather of all people into Team Chump!

Sam: ♪-and Alehandout was his name-o!

Lindsay: SAM! How to spell Ellie-Hanowt again!?!

Sam: *outside the confessional* LINDSAY! Just cross off the photo! I was joking!

Cameron: Adios, Muchacho! *blows raspberry*

Gwen: Why does it feel so satisfying doing this twice?

Courtney: Honestly! While Mike seems to like Alejandro, I'm a strong believer in three is a crowd. Bye, Al.

Alejandro: *hums “This Is How We Will End It” while crossing off a photo*

Mal: Honestly, these votes won’t matter. Since I used the H-Bombers to distract that country fried bird, I was able to keep me and that Fabio clone in the game. Al better come through on his end!

Chris begins passing the marshmallows to the other contestants. It comes down to Heather and Alejandro. Chris tells Alejandro that he hates to say it, but Alejandro has to go tonight. Alejandro tells Chris to hold that thought then pulls out the Chris Head Statue. The others gasp while Mal smirks.

We cut to hours ago during the ride back to the island. Hall of the Mountain King plays again. Alejandro shows Mal the statue. Mal asks him how he did it. Alejandro reveals that he talked to a few of the interns. They were reluctant until he brought up Sabrina. Mal calls him a master of manipulation. Alejandro brags that he always gets what he wants. He claims it’s the Burromuerto way.

Back to present time at the ceremony, Harold calls himself an idiot for forgetting the statues. Heather calls this another vote manipulation. Alejandro calls it Justicia on missing out on the best. Heather angrily screams no. At the Flush of Shame, Heather is already in the toilet talking to Harold. She wants to thank him for tolerating her. Harold tells her to don’t worry about it, and don’t be afraid to ask him for anything. The two hug each other good-bye for a good three seconds. (Panel 5) After letting go, Heather tells Zoey to don’t worry because he (Harold) is all hers (Zoey) now. She then tells Scott that she’ll see him in the finale. Zoey looks relieved while Scott looks annoyed. Heather tells Harold one last thing before she goes. “Harold, whatever you do. Alejandro MUST be eliminated right after me! You got it!” “Roger,” Harold says as his eye glows red by staring Alejandro. As Heather gets flushed away, Harold walks passed Alejandro. The latter tells him that no matter what he does it won’t bring her back. Harold tells him like wise. We have shot of them giving each other a cocky and determined look respectively. (Panel 6) Chris then wraps up the episode.

Later that night, Scott and Tweeters are confronted by Alejandro who also has his luggage. Scott asks what's the meaning of this. Alejandro reminds him that he gets to stay in the hotel as well. Scott tells him that he’ll never forgive Alejandro for what happened to Heather. Alejandro tells him that he found out that he wasn’t the only one to vote for Heather. Scott already knows that Mike is under Al’s beck and call now. Alejandro tells him that Harold might have voted for Heather too. Scott and Tweeters give Alejandro confused look, truly ending the episode.

Elimination: Heather

Award: Hotel de le Chris (Scott), Invincibility (Alejandro), and Roommate of Choice (Alejandro by default)

A/N: If people wanted to know why I gave the Harold/Heather bond so much attention, it was because I feel like it's one of the show's biggest missed opportunities. I do admit when writing them that I always imply some darkness in their relationship, but I find myself having to do so. It fills in many blanks that the show didn’t want (or try) to explain. I honestly glad to have them truly working as a team for one challenge. I just wish it was not only canon, but in better circumstances.

This article is about the first season. For the entire series, see Total Drama.

Canadian animated comedy television series

Season of television series

Total Drama Island (sometimes shortened to TDI) is the first season of Total Drama, a Canadian animated comedy television series created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch. The series premiered in Canada on Teletoon on July 8, 2007 and ran for 26 episodes, each 22 minutes in duration[1] with a special 44 minute season finale.

A grand view of the main setting used in this season (which is artificially recreated in the next season). The island is also used in the fourthand fifth seasons(which leads to its destruction).

Total Drama Island is set in the fictional titular reality show, which follows the competition of 22 unsuspecting and unwitting teenagers at Camp Wawanakwa, the most rundown, insect-infested, disgusting island in an unspecified area in Muskoka, Ontario. The campers participate in competitions and challenges that get more insane and dangerous each week to avoid being voted off the island by their fellow campers and teammates. At the end of the series, the winning contestant will receive C$100,000 (US$78,402.78). The competition is hosted by Chris McLean, assisted by the camp's chef, Chef Hatchet, who is also Chris's best friend despite being mistreated at times. Egotistical and immoral, unless something affects him legally, Chris places the show's contestants in various life-threatening challenges.

At the beginning of the season, the 22 16-year-old campers are placed into two groups of eleven, the "Screaming Gophers" and the "Killer Bass". In each episode, the teams participate in a challenge, in which one or more campers can win invincibility for their team. The losing team is called to the campfire that night, where they vote one of their members off the island. The camper with the most votes is eliminated from the competition. At this campfire, McLean passes out marshmallows to the campers who have not been voted off, while the one who does not get a marshmallow must walk down the Dock of Shame to the Boat of Losers, which will take them away from the island and they will "never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, come back, ever" according to Chris (this was proved a lie in "No Pain, No Game", when he brought Eva and Izzy back into the game).

On episode 14, the teams are disbanded, so it is every camper for themselves, after which the challenges continue; the winner of each challenge then only receives invincibility for him or herself, whereupon the rest of the campers vote one camper without invincibility off the island. This process of elimination continues until two players remain. They are then subject to a final contest. Total Drama Island is a parody of the reality show Survivor. McLean is very similar to Survivor host Jeff Probst.[2] This is the first season in which the winner does not get to keep the money, due to it being eaten by a shark in the episode "Total Drama Drama Drama Drama Island".

Total Drama Island premiered on July 8, 2007, on the Teletoon channel. This season has 26 episodes, each 22 minutes long, and two special episodes.[3] It was the third Cartoon Network show outside of Adult Swim and Toonami to have the U.S. rating of either "TV-PG" or "TV-PG-D", and a parental-guidance warning after every commercial break and at the beginning of the show (the first two being Sunday Pants and IGPX). Its rating in Canada was initially "G"; current broadcasts are rated "PG".

Contestant Voice actor Label Placement Description
BethSarah Gadon[h]The Nice Girl 16th Beth was born and raised on a farm with only animal friends and her parents to keep her company. Thanks to her background, she never developed proper social skills, and while she excels at getting others to stop and stare, it is more often than not for embarrassing reasons. However, she tends to get along well with everybody and even tries to befriend her teammates. In the third episode of Total Drama Island, she joins a three-way alliance between Heather, Lindsay, and herself, but leaves it after standing up to Heather and her bossy attitude during the paintball challenge. She is then voted off for cursing her team with an idol she took from Boney Island after her team loses the cooking challenge.
BridgetteKristin FairlieThe Surfer Girl 10th Bridgette is a calm, compassionate surfer girl who loves animals almost as much as she loves the water. She ends up being the last girl standing on the Killer Bass, leading her to form a friendship with Gwen and Leshawna after the team merge. She develops a crush on Geoff and the two eventually become a couple.
CodyPeter OldringThe Geek 17th Cody is a tech-savvy geek, who sees himself as a ladies' man instead of a nerd. He has a large crush on Gwen and tries unsuccessfully to flirt with her, but settles for making Gwen happy by hooking her up with Trent.
CourtneyEmilie-Claire Barlow[i]The Type A 14th Courtney is a perfectionist who desires to be best at everything, and sees herself as a born leader. Her desire for success often clashes with her own principles and can come off as being quite bossy and critical, which leads her to be disliked by many contestants, But she also can be nice and kind in occations. She has a crush on Duncan, but denies it. Later on in the series, the two form a romantic relationship, leading to her unfair elimination as Harold rigged the votes for Courtney to leave to get back at Duncan for bullying him.
DJClé BennettThe Brickhouse With Heart 8th DJ is a very soft-spoken and sensitive guy who is compassionate and kind to those around him despite his intimidating size. He has a fear of heights and snakes, but manages to overcome them as the season progresses.
DuncanDrew NelsonThe Delinquent 4th Duncan is a crafty juvenile delinquent and apparent bully who knows many tactics from his time spent in juvenile detention centers. His experience in juvy has made him into a strong and ruthless competitor, but he still shows affection towards his teammates from time to time, particularly towards Courtney. During the merge, he forms a guys alliance with DJ, Geoff, Trent, and Owen to help the boys stay in the competition. He ends up being tough enough to make it to the final four.
EvaJulia ChantreyThe Female Bully 12th Eva is very competitive and physically strong, but she is often overly aggressive. She is known to have a short temper and violent ways of exhibiting her anger. While her temper got her eliminated from the competition early, she was allowed to return to compete after the merge (which lasted one episode because the contestants still didn't want to deal with her violent behavior). Eva is one out of three contestants from the original cast to only compete on Total Drama Island and not on any of its follow-up seasons.
EzekielPeter OldringThe Home Schooled Guy 22nd Ezekiel is a gullible country boy who was homeschooled at his farm. His lack of interaction with other kids has left him with incredibly poor social skills. He is the first one voted off the competition due to his unintentional sexist remarks towards the female competitors.
GeoffDan PetronijevicThe Party Guy 6th Geoff may not be the smartest contestant in the bunch, but he has a positive attitude, loves people, and is always up for a party. He forms a strong friendship with DJ and Duncan, and develops a crush on fellow teammate Bridgette. He tries to get closer to her, however, the relationship between the two is often a rocky one, as many of his attempts to impress her instead end up putting her off. As the season progresses, Bridgette shows signs of returning his feelings, and the two officially become a couple.
GwenMegan FahlenbockThe Loner Winner/Runner-up Gwen is a goth girl whose interests lie in art and astronomy. She is smart, independent, kind and level-headed, stating her best quality is her inability to get excited over minuscule things. Her attitude at first seems very harsh and sarcastic, but she is not a bitter person. During the season, she develops a crush on Trent and forms an intense rivalry with her teammate Heather. Despite the numerous physical and social obstacles in her way, Gwen remains strong enough to make it to the finale alongside Owen.
HaroldBrian FroudThe Dweeb 13th Harold is a skinny, awkward-looking guy who takes pride in his knowledge, resourcefulness, and "Mad Skills" in subjects like filming and beatboxing. He is frequently bullied by Duncan and is often underestimated by his teammates and competitors, as he's pulled through and won challenges for the Killer Bass a number of times despite nearly getting voted off at several elimination ceremonies. It's revealed later in the season that he's developed a large crush on Leshawna.
HeatherRachel WilsonThe Queen Bee 3rd Heather competes with her sights solely on the prize money and not on making friends, using others at her advantage and only being kind when she may ultimately benefit. Early in the season, she forms an alliance with Beth and Lindsay and frequently forces the latter to place Heather's priorities above her own. Despite everyone's hatred towards her (particularly from Gwen and Leshawna), she manages to make it to the final three thanks to either performing strongly in the competition or manipulating others to get what she wants.
IzzyKatie CrownThe Psycho Hose Beast 7th Izzy is seen as one of the show's craziest contestants. She is fun but hard to handle and to the other contestants, more trouble than she is worth. Izzy has extraordinary athletic and fighting abilities, and also sticks herself to the wild environment. Early in the season, she is forced to leave the competition after being chased out by the Royal Canadian Mountain Police, but Chris allows her to return after the teams merge into one. During the merge, she develops a strong crush on Owen.
JustinAdam ReidThe Eye Candy 20th Justin is a supermodel of incredible beauty. He is so handsome that he can make everyone around, whether they are female, male, or animal, stop dead in his or her tracks at the mere sight of him. While Justin does speak in the first and last episodes of the season, he remains mute for the majority of the time, letting his appearance speak for itself.
KatieStephanie Anne MillsThe Sweet Girl 19th Katie and Sadie are two best friends who do everything together. They are sensitive, cheerful, and boy-crazy and when they grow attracted to someone, they will fawn over him endlessly. After Katie's elimination, Sadie struggles at first to compete without her, but adapts more as she continues. They are two out of three contestants from the original cast to only compete on Total Drama Island and not any of its follow-up seasons.
LeshawnaNovie Edwards The Sister With 'Tude 5th Leshawna is loyal and sassy, yet also can be affectionate and caring. If shown respect, she will reciprocate it indefinitely. Leshawna tells it like it is, and has no fear whatsoever of calling people out on their mistakes. She forms a friendship with Gwen and a strong rivalry against Heather.
NoahCarter HaydenThe Schemer 21st Noah comes off as being sarcastic, cynical, and a bit too lazy. He is extremely intelligent, growing up as a child prodigy, but finds physical activity as laughable as the ridiculous antics of some of his peers. He is voted off after refusing to participate in the dodgeball challenge and constantly teasing his teammates.
OwenScott McCordThe Funniest Guy Around Winner/Runner-up Owen is a huggable, upbeat, fun-loving, friendly, passionate, and optimistic competitor, who is basically in Total Drama to have fun more than win the grand prize. Owen's three biggest loves are eating, having a good time and passing a large amount of gas. Among his peers, he is arguably the most popular contestant of all time for his cheerful ways, optimistic viewpoints no matter what the situation is, and ability to see the best in other people. Despite his obesity, he makes it to the finale with Gwen thanks to his popularity amongst the cast and surprising athletic abilities. He develops a crush on Izzy while they were walking through the woods in the horror movie survival challenge.
SadieLauren Lipson The Sweet Girl's Best Friend 15th Sadie and Katie are best friends who do everything together. They are sensitive, cheerful, and boy-crazy and when they are attracted to someone, they fawn over him endlessly. After Katie's elimination, Sadie struggles at first to compete without her, but adapts as she continues. They are two out of three contestants from the original cast to only compete on Total Drama Island and not any of its follow-up seasons.
TrentScott McCordThe Cool Guy 11th Trent is a relaxed, nice guy who tends to get along with everyone with his amazing social skills and his ability to play the guitar. He is also shown as being a pain magnet, suffering a number of near-death experiences and mishaps during the season. He has a crush on Gwen and when the two try to get together, Heather tries to break them apart seeing their affection as a threat towards her alliance.
TylerPeter OldringThe Jock 18th Tyler is a sports fan who loves anything physical. Unfortunately, he is extremely uncoordinated and dim, constantly putting himself and others at risk with his clumsiness. He and Lindsay become one of the show's first couples.

Episode finale variations[edit]

For every season, the show's producers create two alternate endings for the final episode, such that the winner seen in one country's broadcasts is the runner-up in other countries (and vice versa) where the show airs. Owen is the original winner in Canada, but he is also shown as the winner in Australia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latin America and Brazil (Cartoon Network), the Middle East, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.[citation needed] Gwen is the original runner-up in Canada, but she is also the winner in Finland, Japan, Latin America and Brazil (Boomerang and TBS) Norway, Poland, Romania and Sweden.

Total Drama Island was developed and produced by Fresh TV, starting in 2006, with an early name for the series being Camp TV.[5] The season was animated at Elliott Animation and was directed by Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton.[6] It was primarily targeted at twelve-to-eight-year-olds, and the creators, Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, studied what tweens liked and disliked about reality television shows in the writing process.[7] McGillis said that they used a "countrywide online research project" to determine this demographic's likes.[8] Fresh TV Inc. partners McGillis, Pertsch, Elliott and Irving produced the series.[9] The budget for the series was $8 million.[10] It was animated in Flash,[6] at Elliott Animation's studio in Toronto.[9] Every cast and crew member on Total Drama Island had to sign a confidentiality agreement not to disclose who the winner was.[11] All the characters were designed by Kauffman.[12] Voice actors from the FreshTV series 6teen have lent their voices for Total Drama Island: Christian Potenza, who played the character Jude on 6teen, played the role of host Chris McLean. Potenza said that the best part of the job was that his character could not be voted off the show.[13]Emilie-Claire Barlow plays a recurring role as Chrissy on 6teen and plays Courtney on Total Drama Island. Barlow stated that Courtney was her favorite character that she had ever played.[14] Other voice actors from 6teen include Julia Chantrey as Eva; Drew Nelson (Kai) as Duncan; Megan Fahlenbock (Jen) as Gwen; Adam Reid (Wayne) as Justin; Stephanie Anne Mills ( and Katie; and Rachel Wilson (Melinda Wilson) as Heather.

Carole Bonneau, the Vice President of programming of Teletoon Canada stated that Total Drama Island, along with Fresh TV's 6teen were "consistently top performers" for audiences of ages 6–11, and also helped to bring in older viewers as well.[15] When Total Drama Island aired on the American Cartoon Network, it performed very well; The Toronto Star reported that, "in some ages groups [Total Drama Island showed] a 500 per cent ratings increase in [its] time slot."[8] On December 11, 2008, Total Drama Island garnered 3.5 million viewers.[16] That year, the series was the top "regularly scheduled Thursday night program at 9 p.m. on all television throughout third quarter among boys 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14," according to the Animation World Network.[17] On Memorial Day weekend of 2009, a marathon of Total Drama Island increased viewership in age groups 2-11, 6-11, and 9-14, each by 20% or more compared to the same week in 2008.[18] As of 2011, Total Drama Island has aired in over 188 countries.[19]

Critical reception[edit]

Total Drama Island has received generally positive reviews. The series was nominated for a Gemini Award for "Best Animated Program or Series", shared by Tom McGillis, Jennifer Pertsch, George Elliott and Brian Irving.[20]Common Sense Media gave the show 4 out of 5 stars, deeming it an "enjoyable, smart show" and finding that it appealed to all demographics..[21] Matthew Price of The Oklahoman gave a mixed review of the series, stating that it "starts unbelievably slowly", but deeming that the later episodes effectively spoofed reality shows.[22] Debi Enker of The Age gave a negative review of the season's last episode, calling the art, design and writing "lamentable."[23]

Public reaction[edit]

Total Drama Island received a score of 8.2 on Metacritic from users.[24]

DVD releases[edit]

A DVD was released by Warner Home Video on August 18, 2009 in the United States. It contains all of the 27 episodes (including TDI Rundown) of season one of this series in a 4 disc set, for a total of 594 minutes long. In addition, its bonus features (entitled as X-tras) are the audition tapes of twenty two campers, played after each of their respective eliminations, as well as Izzy's second audition tape and her exclusive interview with Chris (the latter of which is shown after Eva's second elimination). In Australia, Total Drama Island is on Region 4 DVD as separate volumes. This series of discs contains the widescreen version with uncut scenes and original dialogue, as seen on Teletoon and ABC3. In reviewing the DVD for season, Matthew Price of The Oklahoman wrote that while the show started out "unbelievably slowly," the series became more interesting as campers began getting voted off. Price also praised the parody of reality shows.[25] In another review of the DVD, Jeffrey Kauffman of DVD Talk wrote that the character development was compelling and that the parody of reality shows were very funny.[26] Mac McEntire of DVD Verdict praised the character development as well, but noted that the show sometimes sinks to "lowbrow gross-outs".[27] Both Kauffman and McEntire recommended the series DVD.

Total Drama Island: Totally Interactive![edit]

Total Drama Island: Totally Interactive! was an online game in Canada and the US marketed in conjunction with the television series. It was produced by Xenophile Media. By registering a free account, the player could play games using a customizable avatar to earn points for marshmallows. Marshmallows are used as money in the game so the player can buy in-game items. The player who earned the most points had their avatar make a cameo appearance in the season finale.[28] The games were based on the challenges in the show.[29]Total Drama Island: Totally Interactive! was nominated for an Interactive Emmy Award in 2007.[28] However, the website is currently no longer available, as it has been replaced by Total Drama Online and by the Teletoon and Cartoon Network official sites.[30]

Total Drama Island is a fictional reality show that follows the competition of twenty-two teens at Camp Wawanakwa, a fictional island located in an uspecified area in Muskoka, Ontario. The campers participate in competitions to avoid being voted off the island by their fellow campers. At the end of the series, the winning contestant will win C$100,000. The competition is hosted by Chris McLean, who is assisted by the camp’s chef, Chef Hatchet. At the beginning of the season, the twenty-two teen campers are placed into two groups of eleven, the “Screaming Gophers” and the “Killer Bass”. A gopher is a wild animal that is closely related to prairie dogs. They do make a screaming-like noise to communicate, and that’s probably why they chose the name “Screaming Gophers”. Bass are a type of fish who are found mostly in North American ponds, rivers, streams, lakes, tide pools and even the ocean. Bass are not killers, but as a matter of fact they are mostly kill-ed by sharks, whales, etc. The campers for the “Killer Bass” are, Duncan, DJ, Bridgette, Tyler, Eva, Courtney, Katie, Sadie, Harold McGrady, Geoff and Ezekiel. The campers for the “Screaming Gophers” are Owen, Trent, Gwen, Izzy, Heather, Lindsay, Justin, Noah, Cody Anderson, Beth and LeShawna. lessall rights reserved all total drama pahkitew island episodes next uploading next episode 11.

My Thoughts on That's Off the Chain! (TDI Episode 18)

Author's Avatar

Well hello there my fellow campers. It has happened once again where I have come up with nirhing fir my intro and if you would like to be a consultant for me to help when this happens I would love the help. Anywho let's begin today's review by taking a look at That's Off the Chain!

user uploaded image

This episode starts off with most campers playing frisbee. Lindsay and Heather are hanging out in the dock and Lindsay is trying to swat a fly but accidentally hits Heather instead who makes her clip her toenails. We then see that Geoff is having a hard time with Bridgette being gone and starts singing about her but he can't sing. Duncan and the guys then go to check on Geoff to make sure he's still good for the guys alliance when Chris cones over the loud speaker and calls everyone to the arts and crafts center where he reveals that the challenge will be to build their own bike. Owen is excited by this and sats hes going to build his dream bike. Lindsay agrees and says she asked for the same bike every year for Christmas but never got it. CURSE YOU SANTA! "Wait if Lindsay, Owen, and DJ are all 16 then why do they believe in Santa stll?" Shut it non believer. Funcan then tells the guys to focus more on winning than Christmas wishes and Heatner has Lindsay dismantle Chef's road hog. As the guys are building there bikes Geoff draws a picture of Bridgette. We then see Leshawna not know so much about bikes when Izzy finishes her and invites Leshawna for a test drive. Lindsay then finishes dismantling Chef's bike and begins to build Heather's bike. Bacl with the guys who are still building there bikes as they share stories about their first bike ride and how badly injured they were after wiping out. Everyone is called back to the arts and crafts center to be judged. Chris limes everyone's bike, except DJ, and then reveals tjey won't be racing with their own bikes but they will be switching. We then cut to the beach where everyone switches bikes based off of drawing a name out of a helmet. Heather gets DJ's, Gwen gets Owen's, Lindsay gets Heather's, Duncan gets Lindsay's, DJ gets Geoff's, Owen gets Duncan's, and Geoff gets Gwen's.

The race starts and everyone goes but Heather and Owen. Heather can't go because DJ has training wheels on his bike that don't agree with sand. And Owen can't find Duncan's pedals. Duncan says that while it's messed up he loves Lindsay's bike and Lindsay accepts the complement as she passes him. DJ is doing well on Geoff's bike but since Geoff forgot the bolts the bike falls apart and DJ crashes. Geoff then crashes into DJ and Heather crashes into the two of them. Owen then pulls the skull pn Duncan's bike which makes him go flying past the finish line. Followed by Lindsay, Duncan, and Gwen. Owen then doesn't know how to stop Duncan's bike but when he learns he flies over the handle bars. Because their bikes made it through the first part of the challenge Heather, Lindsay, Owen, and Dumcan. Lindsay and Owen share a friendly conversation before Chris starts the race. Chris tells tbem tbat there are three sections of the race. The first has deadly mines, the second has oil slick, and tbe third has parhanas. Heather then manipulates Lindsay into goung infront of her so Heather knows the best way and can win invincibility. The race begins as Owen is first into the mine feild and the first mine he hits destroys his bike and sends him flying. We then see Duncan successfully navigating the minefield but wipes out in the oil slick. Lindsay is propelled by an explosion to tge oil slick and with the pony tail of her bike she makes a safe path for Heather. She then skids across the parhanas easily but is temporarily stuck on the edge.

Heather tgen uses tge parts from Chef's motorcycle to boost past Lindsay and finish in first followed by Lindsay in second. However since Owen and Duncan never crossed the finish line Lindsay is eliminated. And what follows is quite arguably the greatest scene in all of Total Drama. Lindsay asks Heather why she isn't helping her as she promised to take her to the final 3. Heather brushes it off and says sge guess not. Lindsay then asks if Heather is even sad since they're BFF's but Heather says it was just for the competition and not for life. She also reveals she had Lindsay fo all the work she did and she never even liked her. Heather defends herself by saying they are all here to win not make friends. Everyone on the island is pissed with Heather about this and Lindsay says that even though she said people were wrong about Heather they were right she really is a Two faced, backstabbing, lying little ******* ***** *** **** ************ ******** ***** .

And the reactions are PRICELESS. Lindsay thrn goes home and the episode ends. This epusode is pretty mediocre for the most part. The challenge is alright the character interactions are okay aside from Lindsay, but that ending was so phenomenal that as an overall total Score I'm going to give this episode a 9.2/10

You made quite a few errors in this section. Also, this challenge is pretty dumb.

1. Why do you need immunity if last place gets eliminated?

2. If you do bad in the first part of the challenge, you basically earn immunity.

REACTING TO: Total Drama Island Season 1 Episode 18 - The Truth Comes Out (REACTION VIDEO)

In the evening the general came and ordered her to put herself in order as this evening there will be an auction. Oksana did not understand what kind of auction, but judging by the voice of the general, she was in for something not. Very pleasant. She was taken to the bathroom again.

Now discussing:

We walked slowly through a well-lit park with tall century-old oaks and pyramid-shaped firs, branches and paws of which were adorned with lush caps of snow. It seemed that my release from carnal worries body floated in the air along with millions of snowflakes, smoothly descending from the boundless purity of. The sky. At the taxi stand, Anechka, who had been silent until now, raised her pure innocent eyes at me and quietly dropped: Tomorrow we also have three.
